The two plugs then descend together to Landing Collar near the bottom of the liner string. The Latch-Down Liner Wiper Plug latches and seals into a Landing Collar. (Either Product No. BI 274-01 or Product No. BI 101-15)
The use of a Latch-Down liner Wiper Plug provides four principal benefits:

It prevents cement contamination by separating displacement fluids from cement.

It wipes the liner ID clean.

The Latch-Down Liner Wiper Plug prevents cement reentry into the liner by latching and sealing into the Landing Collar and thus provides a back up seal for the floating equipment.

After latching into the Landing Collar, the Latch-Down Liner Wiper Plug cannot move up the hole later when the well is producing.
The Latch-Down Liner Wiper Plug is attached to the Shear Pin Adapter (or Shear Screw Adapter) as the last item in the Mechanical or Hydraulic Setting String. The Latch-Down Liner Wiper Plug follows the cement down the liner effectively cleaning cement from the liner ID. The Latch-Down feature enables the tool to land and positively lock into the Landing Collar.
LANDING COLLAR WITH SHEAR OUT BALL SEAT

The Landing Collar with Shear Out Ball Seat is provided with a setting ball which is dropped from the surface and seats in the Landing Collar. Then, Pressure is applied to set the Liner Hanger. Additional pressure is applied to shear the seat so that circulation can be established. The ball is contained in a lower housing of the Collar so no special ball catcher is needed.
